What is the difference between visa electron and visa debit cards?
Q. I have visa electron debit card with cvv number for online transactions. But same web sites are not accepting electron cards. They are specifically saying visa cards. What is the actual difference between them? I am 24 years of age. Can I get visa card.
Asked by sira - Tue Sep 21 03:10:40 2010 - Other - Business & Finance - 3 Answers - Comments

A. visa electron is for people who have recently opened their account, or do not have a very high 'trust' status on their account. You can use it to withdraw cash from a machine but pretty useless for paying for things in a shop - most don't accept them. To get upgraded, use your account like a good citizen, making regular deposits and withdrawals and then approach your bank in about 3 months time and ask if you can have a debit card.

How to change a tourist visa to a Religious R1 visa while I am in USA?
Q. I have a B1/B2 visa valid for 10 years. I want to change this visa status to R1 whil I am in USA. I am professional graduate in Religious education and had been ordained and in the occupation for the past 6 years in India.
Asked by Mo_Ara - Sat Dec 29 07:24:10 2007 - Immigration - 3 Answers - Comments

A. If the person seeking R-1 status is present in the US in a valid nonimmigrant category (other than "visa waiver") the prospective employer may file an R-1 petition with the CIS. The application for R-2 status for family dependents is filed at the same time. The processing time for an R-1 petition varies between 1 to 5 months. You would not be able to participate in R-1 activities until the petition is approved because an approval cannot be assumed. Employee Requirements: The beneficiary must be qualified to work in the religious occupation. Ministers must have the required seminary degree and or ordination certificate. Other religious workers must document their commitment and experience through certificates and reference letters. [cont.]

What is the likelihood that my multiple entry visa is rejected at the Chinese border?
Q. I am a USA citizen with a valid business (F) visa to China. I am traveling again to China, but for purposes of tourism and not business. I know the requirements explicitly say that one cannot be a full time tourist on a business visa, but they also state that I cannot hold two valid visas simultaneously. If I show up at the border with my business visa, what is the likelihood that I will be rejected by immigration officials? PS, this would suck if it happened. Does anyone have any similar experience they can share? And does anyone remember what exactly the procedure is for passing through the immigration officials? Do they just ask you questions about what you'll be doing during your stay? I have only done this one time, and I cannot… [cont.]

A. If the visa is valid this will not be a problem. As long as you fill out the forms correctly and your passport and visa are valid they will not know you are not on business, but vacation so they don't care.

How can I renew my tourist visa to Turkey?
Q. My three-month (does this mean an exact 90 days, by the way, or the same date three months later?) Turkish tourist visa expires in about three or four weeks and I want to renew it. From what I gather, I'll probably have to do a "visa run" and go to another country and come back and get a new visa. My question is, do I have to do this on the exact date that my visa is set to expire and come back after it's expired, or can I do it a few days or a week or two earlier and just get a new visa then? Also, what is the easiest and/or cheapest way to do a visa run from western Turkey (not Istanbul, but close)? Detailed answers will be highly appreciated. Thanks much. P.S. Does "any embassy" mean a Turkish embassy or an American… [cont.]

How much does it cost to make a Thai visa run on your own?
Q. How much would it cost to make a visa run on one's own? I've been using a visa run service for a couple of months now, but am thinking of saving money. How much does a journey by train from Bangkok to the Cambodian and Laotian borders cost? How much does the actual 60-day tourist visa cost? Does it take much longer to make the visa run by train than with a visa run service?

A. Assuming that your nationality doesnt require a visa to enter Malaysia, you can do a visa run by train to Malaysia and back to Thailand. The ticket in 2nd class costs about US$10. However, the journey takes almost a day between the Butterworth terminal in Malaysia and Bangkok.

It is generally much faster to file a petition direct to the office in the relevant countries. From their website... A. The average time for USCIS to complete an H1b processing is 90 days. You mus talso take into consideration the additional time your lawyer will take in preparing the application, and the fact that there is apreliminary application called LCA that the lawyer files with the Dept. of Labor prior to filing with USCIS and that sometimes takes a couple of weeks. You need to be clear with the lawyer about your timetable and follow up with e-mails or calls to make sure the paralegal on the case keeps you informed. Objections are mainly in these category: you are not qualified for they job bec. your foreign diplomas are not equivalent to US diplomas, not have required experience, your employer does not agree to pay you the min wage that DOL/USCIS… [cont.]

A. Unless u can prove that u have serious reason to stay longer than 180 days then you can show to visa officials & they will change ur visa category. In a visit / tourist category they do not expect you to stay in a country more than 180 & would assume that you will return to your homeland to resume your normal life. So if I am visa officer I'd ask you first thing, why do u want to stay more than 180 days? You can have/apply upto 5 (10 in some cases) years of valid visit visas but maxium allowed duration is 180 days then u leave for at least 15 days to return back (but entry port officer can still be suspicious & can ask many questions). In the end all depends upon visa officer, but ur case will not be refused if u have genuine… [cont.]

A. The process of K1 visa Philippines is indeed faster than k3 visa. So I would suggest you explain that to your fiancee if she wants to be able to travel with you to the US the soonest. K1 visa is faster than k3 but it may even still take 9 months to 1 year to complete the process. I would suggest you hire an expert or an immigration lawyer in the Philippines to help you with the application for a faster processing.
