Do you think people around the world view America as the shining beacon of hope we say it is?
Q.
Asked by right you are ken - Sun Nov 11 18:09:22 2007 - Politics - 26 Answers - Comments
A. They see it as a cash-cow, nothing more. If they viewed it as a "shining beacon of hope" they would come here with intentions of becoming an American, not coming here to work for 10 years and retire back to their 3rd world country.

What has (or did) make America become the shining light for Freedom?
Q. What specifically has made this happen, laws etc. What laws currently instated or were instated in the past have devalued or removed these freedoms? What is freedom and how has America protected this value?
Asked by Charles - Mon Mar 30 18:22:52 2009 - Other - Politics & Government - 5 Answers - Comments
A. America was once a shining light for freedom. but if you look at today headlines with obama telling who can get get raises or bonus's and how much people can make and bailing out the auto makers only if they fire some one, universal health care, wealth redistribution, basically trying to control things that they have no business in freedom is lost. thanks to liberals America is no longer the shining light of freedom but a poster child for socialism.

Is Sarah Palin's family America's shining example of Christian Family Values? ?
Q.

A. You who are without sin, cast the first stone. But in the realistic world who besides political hacks and campaigners Actually blame the sin of the child on the fathers and mothers? And if true Christian values were being exhibited on these pages these types of questions wouldn't even appear. But as usual it is the same old Roman Circus..."Chris tians to the Arena...Lions, on in 5 minutes."

A. California baby! in Mammoth, it's really dry, warm, and woodsy during summer (i have friends who live up there, my fam. visits them alot). and during winter, it snows. the whole place is really small, my friend and i ride the trolley (it's like a bus, but it's for free) around the town, it only takes like about 30-40 min. it's a really good place for a story i think. but the movie theater sucks though, it only has 2 movie screens, so they can only have 2 movies at a time. :( If you want more details about Mammoth, you can look it up online. Hope i helped. :) And why didn't anyone put down California, the Golden State??? Yea, DOES it snows here in Sunny California for your information, sheesh!

What does the quote "America is a shining city upon a hill" mean?
Q.

A. The quote"city upon a hill" was the famous quote of John Winthrop, the governor of Massachusetts Bay colony. The sermon was delivered while they were in the ship, Arbella on the way from England. It was a period when the Puritans, the reformists came to the New World and established a colony. Winthrop called upon his fellow puritans to lead a life worthy of their calling. There was a time when their life was not up to the christian calling with their wrong doings in Europe. He wants to change their practices and start new beginning. The people must lead a godly and pure life. The world is watching and they had to be a model to others as the "city upon a hill". Winthrop may be thinking about the great quote of Jesus… [cont.]

Q. Which states in America get a very good weather not cold, not often rainy, not often cloudy, not hot, not shining much and very suitable for outdoor sports like camping, jogging, cycling and etc.
Asked by Chris - Fri Jan 29 06:53:31 2010 - Other - United States - 6 Answers - Comments
A. Coastal doesn't necessarily mean rain... but places like that are in high demand which means they are expensive. Southern California coasts don't get too cold for most of the year or too hot (usually stay between 60 to 80 degrees. I don't think L.A. gets hotter than 90 during the summer. But there are very few places that fit all those criteria unless you have tons of money to spend.

Q. So I'm basically asking if you think Obama's policies will work, OR if you think Republicans will win in 2010 and 2012, and they will get America back to prosperity. Also I know America is a country and not a city. It was just an inspiring quote by Ronald Reagan.

Q. when we debate we ask question like, how could the sand of the moon buggy just land as if the gravity was real, if they really landed on the moon wouldn't neil armstrong be really thirsty n the moon coz when the sun shines on the moon's surface it gets 500 degrees celius not frenheit, why the moon rocks gave the same result's as microwaved rocks, There is so much radiation in space really and the only material know to stop radiation fully is lead, what where the space suits made of? Read this and answer the question

A. I think it might have been faked. those other attempted landings weren't faked, they were just failures at the real thing. It is kind of far fetched to swallow that in 1969, they landed in that peice of tin with very limited technology, something for some reason we haven't been able to replacate since, and neither has any other country. The whole thing just looks very artificial, it's very hard to believe simply because no one has ever done it since, the reason is simple, we couldn't then and we can't now.
